    Adopting a dog

I grew up in a family full of pets: cats, dogs, goldfish, hamsters. As I got older, I really gravitated towards dogs. My wife and I adopted a golden retriever puppy 15 years ago and enjoyed him for over 14 years. Sadly, we lost him last year. After taking several months to grieve, we decided to start looking around for a new dog. Unsure of what size dog we wanted, we started browsing the local shelters, with no intention of making a choice just yet. On our first visit to the shelter we fell absolutely in love with an 8 month old Labrador mix puppy. And the rest is history. He has absolutely turned our world upside down in the best way. Great article about dog breeds and adoption I found on this site: https://www.manopause.com/life/a-furry-friend-for-life-a-guide-on-companion-dogs-for-the-elderly-1434/
  2. I waited 20 years to get another dog thinking no dog could ever replace the one I lost. I was wrong! Dogs have a way of tugging at your heart strings and giving you unconditional love. Anyone else feel this way?
