Larry
I love finding new great restaurants around the country and around the world. Many have been hit hard by COVID, so hopefully they weather the storm. One of my favorite local restaurants in San Diego is The Market. it's a little pricey, but the food is fresh with a variety of offerings to suit many tastes, from fresh sushi and seafood to organic beef and chicken dishes. One of my favorite restaurants in the world is Antica Osteria da Divo in Siena, Italy. Built into an old Etruscan cavern, the ambience is rustic and warm, and the food is amazing. The risotto is made fresh and delivered to your table in a wheel of pecorino cheese, stirred, and served. The lasagna is light, with paper thin sleeves of pasta separated by a savory meat sauce. A must if you are passing through Siena.
CaribbeanSun
Staying in the Mediterranean one of my very favorite restaurants is Sunset by Paraskevas on the Ammoudi Bay in Oui, Santorini, Greece. And, I mean right on the bay, if you push your chair back too far you will fall in. It's not fancy at all, Greecian blue wooden chairs, white clothed tables all in the open air, and the freshest fish prepared with the best Greek spices and served with local farm to table vegetables, orzo and delicious crisp Greek wines. It's at the bottom of a long stone staircase at the end of the village of Oui, there are no signs, you just have to ask. There is a way to get dropped off by cab near the boat landing. I've gone mulitple times and it never disappoints. Try to go just before the sun sets. They call it Sunset for a reason!
RollTideWin
Bouillon Pigalle in Paris! Super cheap food and wine! Close to Moulin Rouge and Montmarte. Amazing! I found myself here 5 times on my last visit to the beautiful city of Paris!
juliam60
I went to a tiny little cafe around the Eiffel Tower, which was probably a tourist hot spot. Nonetheless, I had my first taste of escargot. Definitely a one time thing but I knocked it off my bucket list!
HotTea
I had frog legs in France! The French definitely have most of my bucket list foods. If I'm being honest, it does taste like chicken...
